Jessica Ahern
LPC | Therapist
I have always had a passion for helping others and as a therapist I aim to work alongside the client to recognize their strengths and abilities, as well as explore unhealthy thought patterns that may impact daily living. I offer a safe, judgement free environment built on mutual respect and trust where individuals are given the space to work through life’s challenges and make positive changes. I believe in meeting clients where they are and tailoring my approach to achieve individual needs. I have experience with CBT, solution-focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET).
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) through the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. I graduated with my master’s degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Carolina and began working at the Root Center for Advanced Recovery. I have experience and knowledge with substance use issues, co-occurring disorders such as depression and anxiety as well as life transitions.

Choosing to begin therapy is daunting and the potential changes can be scary, but I believe the growth and skills learned are worthwhile and I aim to make the process as smooth as possible. I am honored to be a part of your journey and look forward to helping you live your most authentic, fulfilling life!
