I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2002. Much of my career has been working with children and teens in conjunction with their families as well as with individual adult clients and couples, providing clinical treatment, support and psycho-education.

As a graduate of the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT in Marriage and Family Therapy, I gained a greater understanding of the effects that symptoms have on and are effected by family members. I utilize a Solution Focused therapy approach providing short term goal oriented sessions. In addition, I seek to establish boundaries and open communication in families increasing the level of functioning.

My personal and laid back style has been successful working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, Bi-polar, suicidal ideation, self harm, as well as couples issues including sexual dysfunction, affairs, mistrust, parenting and co-parenting. I offer support through developmental stages of childhood, dissolution of marriage and family care giving.

As a divorced mom of two, I am familiar with the struggles of parenthood, co-parenting, marriage and unfortunately divorce. I offer a supportive ear with clinical techniques to get you through your difficulties. I offer evening hours to decrease the need for you to take excessive time off from school or work.

I specialize in PTSD, mood disorders, addictions, anxiety disorders and negative core beliefs about yourself that get in the way of your success and happiness. I'm trained and certified in (EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization. EMDR treats mental health conditions that happen because of memories from traumatic events in your past. It’s best known for its role in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but its use is expanding to include treatment of many other conditions.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. After graduating with my undergraduate degree in Social Work I began working at a residential treatment program for individuals with severe mental health disorders.  Throughout this experience I realized I was passionate about helping people improve their mental health.

I graduated with my master’s degree in Counseling from Central Connecticut State University and began working at the Root Center for Advanced Recovery. I have extensive experience and knowledge with substance use issues, co-occurring disorders such as depression and anxiety as well as life transitions. I utilize a Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) approach as well as a strengths-based perspective when meeting with clients both individually and in group therapy. Most importantly, I meet my clients where they are and work to promote both hope and courage as they face challenges.

I believe that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives and it’s my goal to help people realize their potential and find their strengths. I like to keep a laid-back and calm environment with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship in order to always maintain trust and respect.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years and have had the privilege of working within all levels of psychiatric care. Now in private practice, I utilize all I’ve learned to collaboratively create a treatment plan to guide us on the path toward reaching clients goals. I will draw from the treatment modalities that best fit your unique situation and reasons for seeking therapy. Some of my expertise includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.

I can help you learn a set of skills that will help you more effectively navigate challenging relationships, strong emotions and behaviors which may no longer be serving you.  I have experience in treating many behavioral health conditions and concerns including PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, abuse, family issues, life stressors and transitions. I will provide you with a safe space free of judgement. I am trained and certified in (EMDR)Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy which is a treatment used to address traumatic  events that may be from the distant past or a more recent experience that continues to cause symptoms. When people have a traumatic experience whether a one- time event or ongoing trauma such as abuse they often develop negative beliefs about themselves, others and the world. EMDR therapy can address these beliefs and help clients live their healthiest lives without being encumbered by negative past events.

I know seeking therapy is a big step which takes courage and I look forward to assisting you in this journey.

My ambition is to improve people’s lives and I have chosen to do this through providing therapy as a clinician since 2016. I earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph. In my professional career I have worked with clients and families in various settings. This background has given me the opportunities to better support clients, to give guidance in developing skills, to offer insight that empowers positive change, and to watch them grow. I enjoy working with clients from various backgrounds and cultures. This has led me to meet some amazing people.

Do you feel overwhelmed by your thoughts or emotions? Or find it difficult to establish or maintain satisfying relationships at home, work, or socially? I am here to help you on your journey to find solutions and build strategies for you to reach your goals. My experience in the clinical field has given me experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with clinical concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, relationship problems, and child-parent conflict. In the context of family, the mental health struggles of an individual can impact the family. Common concerns I have treated within families, but not limited to, are communication problems, goal setting, marital conflict, and behavioral issues of children. These concerns and many others can happen for a variety of reasons and impact one's personal life, career, relationships, education, and spiritual well-being.

My approach to therapy is to build a strong therapeutic connection with my clients that is respectful, nonjudgmental, and empathetic.  I utilize skills of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy as catalysts for therapeutic dialogue in sessions. Having trained in other modalities, I will tailor your treatment to best meet your needs. My diverse experience allows me to easily attune to my client's needs and help clients feel comfortable and safe.

I believe that for many the toughest step of therapy is the initial reaching out. You deserve respect and dignity through the process of learning how to address your current issue and build a healthier life with the appropriate skills to face your challenges. It is an honor and a privilege for me to be a part of that process.

 LPC| Therapist

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut with training and experience utilizing Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and person-centered therapy. I graduated from Springfield College with my Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling, and have been working for years with people struggling with substance use disorders, alongside all of the complicated feelings humans experience: sadness and depression, anxiety, grief, fear, change, and problems in relationships. I also have experience with more severe concerns such as mood disorders, trauma, and addiction.

I chose to become a mental health professional after I graduated college and worked for years in customer service. I began to notice that so many of the people around me – from coworkers to customers, family and friends - were silently struggling every day, and I was inspired by their strength. My style could be described as solution-focused, and I work as a team with my clients to achieve their therapeutic goals with empathy, compassion and an open mind.

My favorite thing to see is someone’s pride when they notice how far they’ve come. Often changes are small and incremental, and it can be hard to see our own progress along the way. No undesirable feeling or behavior is truly unexplainable, and while finding the root causes of our mental health concerns can be a difficult process and may take time, it ultimately helps us grow. Learning to be emotionally intelligent will have a consistently positive impact on your life as you learn the skills that will help you navigate life as it comes. I believe that every person is capable of change, and I also acknowledge that change can be unthinkably scary. I am here to help you find your own strength to be an emotionally healthy individual.

As a bilingual Social Worker, my goal is to help both adults and children recognize, address and learn coping skills to deal with trauma, and current life stressors. As the daughter of Hispanic parents, raised in the CT public school system, I have gained experience working with a number of different cultures in a number of different capacities.

Throughout my career, I have adapted to having a patient-centered approach, helping individuals to navigate through their trauma or current life situations. I am a firm believer of helping you to reach the level of empowerment you are looking to achieve. My ability to speak, read and write Spanish fluently has attributed to my ability of furthering my education and career in which I eventually aspire to become a LCSW.

I completed my Bachelors Degree at University of Bridgeport, then continuing my education at Sacred Heart University, achieving my Masters in Social Work. I have worked in the Social Work field for about 10 years, officially becoming a Social Worker in 2019. During my time at Sacred Heart, I completed a clinical internship which allowed me to gain experience running IOP groups, which gave me to the opportunity to learn about DBT and CBT. I am also certified in Circle of Security and the Trauma Based ARC Grow Model.  I also spent time working at a Victims Service Center in Central Florida mainly working with Sexual Assault Victims, as well as Human Trafficking Victims.

I am excited to begin working with groups in the upcoming months! Please look out for the groups listed below:

Postpartum / New Baby Support Group
Giving birth comes with its own set of challenges. New babies can be overwhelming and rewarding. This group is open to new mothers and mothers of multiples. The goal of this group is to offer non-biased support, encouragement and validation to mothers who are struggling with the daily obstacles of adjusting to a new baby.

Adolescent Anxiety Group
The path from childhood to adulthood can be terrifying and confusing. With all of the physical and emotional changes within adolescent development, this experience can seem impossible to navigate. The goal of this group is to help teens guide and support one another through this journey so they can enjoy their teenage life.

I am a Licensed Master of Social Work through the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. I obtained my Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut and have spent the last two years working with people struggling with substance use disorders as well as mental health concerns. I am in the early start of working toward my clinical licensure.

I have experience working with substance misuse, depression, anxiety, stress management, children, adults, and the elderly populations . I have experience working with the following therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and CBT. My goal is to meet you where you are at and find ways to improve your mental health.

Our minds and bodies are not well designed for many of the stresses we face in daily life today. It is not unusual to go through periods where your normal coping skills just aren’t enough. Depression, anxiety, grief and anger can negatively affect your relationships, your work and your ability to live your best life. As a therapist, I support people on their journey of managing and mastering their challenges with painful thoughts and feelings and improving their quality of life.

My approach to therapy is centered in compassion and creating a judgement-free space of safety and support for us to do this work. Within this space, I will help you find ways to reduce your symptoms and distress and find solutions for yourself, using a range of skills and techniques. There is no “one size fits all” answer to anyone’s problems as we are all unique individuals. I use techniques from CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness and somatic (body centered) therapies with a solution focused approach, so that we are always working towards your goals.

I have extensive experience working in the medical field with people experiencing chronic and life threatening illnesses as well mental health conditions. Working with the relationship between body and mind, the way in which emotions affect the physical body and how physical symptoms affect the way you think and feel, we can reduce the distress and burden of illness and find new ways that you can experience joy and a sense of meaning and purpose at any stage of life or health.

I am also trained in ART Therapy (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), an evidence based practice uniquely designed to address traumatic memories using a voluntary memory/image replacement technique which changes the way memories are stored in the brain. Grounded in neuroscience, this treatment can substantially reduce the physical and emotional response to triggers and memories and help you live a healthier and happier life.

I've been working in human services, mental and behavioral health since 2010 in a wide variety of treatment settings. I have worked with all age groups, from birth-3 to end of life, and everything in between. I graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelors in Childhood Studies and a minor in Social Work, as well as a Masters in Special Education. I later went on to earn another Masters degree in Social Work from Simmons College in Boston in order to achieve my dream of providing individual and family therapy in a private practice setting.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I draw from a wide range of treatment modalities and theoretical perspectives in order to provide personalized and client centered treatment. Among the frameworks that I draw from are Existential Philosophy, Social Learning Theory, Psychodynamic Theory and Object Relations Theory. I also utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

I believe that in order to truly overcome our struggles, we must first understand the root of them, and feel that above all else the therapeutic rapport and trust between client and provider is the best predictor of long term success and recovery. With the help of the right clinician and by looking back on our past we can then understand our present and create a healthier and happier future. I also believe that anyone, at any age, can benefit from therapy. I take a person centered approach and individualize my treatment methods and modalities to your specific needs, goals, concerns and hopes for the future. I truly look forward to working with anyone who is hoping to better themselves and their lives.

I have worked in the human services field for over 15 years, and I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut. I graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2012 with an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have worked in a variety of settings throughout my career, and I greatly enjoy helping others reach their goals. I worked for 11 years with young adults diagnosed with ASD teaching independent living and social skills in a residential setting. In 2017 I transitioned to working full time as a mental health counselor.  I have experience working with children, young adults, families, and couples. I currently work as a counselor in an outpatient setting with adults engaged in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

I have always had a passion for helping others and as a therapist I take pride in working with individuals to recognize their strengths and abilities. I believe that therapy is a safe way to provide others with the space, knowledge, and skills to facilitate change and reach personal goals. I use a client-centered approach to therapy, and I take pride in creating a relaxed and judgement free zone. I know that coming into therapy is not always easy and I strive to meet my clients where they are and provide the needed support to help them on their journey. I have experience with CBT, solution-focused therapy, family systems therapy, and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET).

I made the decision to become a therapist because I want to support others as they grow and adjust to the many changes of life. I hope that I can have the opportunity to work with you to develop a toolbox of skills and strategies that can help you manage day to day life in a fulfilling and productive manner.

My goal as a Marriage and Family Therapist is to provide a safe, peaceful, and non-judgmental environment to help foster my client’s growth and healing. My approach is grounded in the belief that interpersonal relationships are one of the most important factors leading to personal happiness, as they play a significant role and influence an individual’s thought patterns and behaviors. I am committed to working with my clients to break dysfunctional cycles and unhealthy generational patterns to reach their goals and become the best version of themselves. I aim to work collaboratively with my clients with a strength-based approach to sustain long-lasting change in their lives.

I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University. I have treated people with symptoms related to a variety of mental health diagnoses such as depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, and anxiety disorders; as well as helping them learn coping skills to manage their symptoms.

Engaging in the process of therapy is a courageous endeavor that I highly admire. Allowing yourself to be open and willing to share your life, your patterns, and emotions with another takes strength and vulnerability. It is this strength and bravery that makes therapy transformational. I am here to hold space for all that you bring to our sessions. I would be honored to help guide you through your journey and transformation

As a Licensed Social Worker, I have dedicated myself to helping others since 2017. My journey began with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao. After Hurricane Maria's impact,
I decided to relocate to Connecticut, bringing with me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the Spanish-speaking community, especially when it comes to finding accessible and empathetic counseling services.

Recognizing the importance of having someone who truly understands your language and culture, I pursued my Master's degree at the University of St. Joseph in 2021. I aim to be a trusted and supportive
resource for those navigating difficult times, particularly within the Spanish-speaking community.

I know life changes can feel overwhelming, and reaching out for help takes great courage. I specialize in working with adults and older individuals who may be facing challenges such as depression, trauma, anxiety, substance use, suicidal thoughts, or simply adjusting to new phases in life. In our sessions, I use motivational interviewing to gently guide you, meet you where you are, and support you in achieving your
personal goals.

My approach is centered on creating a non judgmental, safe, and welcoming space where you can feel honestly heard and understood. I am
here to walk with you on your journey, offering the compassion and support you need to find healing and strength.

I’m glad you’re here! Life is overwhelming and by considering reaching out, you're already taking a step toward healing. I'm here to support you on your journey to wholeness. I'm passionate about supporting individuals navigating life's challenges with a compassionate and collaborative approach. Drawing on evidence-based practices, I strive to create a safe space for exploration and growth, helping you develop coping mechanisms and build resilience to achieve your personal goals. Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship issues, or general life stress, I'm committed to walking alongside you on your journey towards greater wellbeing.

I offer a safe, affirming space where you can explore your experiences and emotions without judgment. Through using a Strength-based perspective alongside other therapy techniques, I work with you to identify ways to navigate the life challenges you are experiencing and to promote well-being. As a therapist, I also value the unique experiences and perspectives of each individual, including their spiritual beliefs. I am comfortable incorporating faith-based practices into therapy when appropriate, while always respecting the client's autonomy in this area.

Throughout my professional career I have worked with diverse groups of families, adolescents, and adults. For nearly the past decade, I have worked in the criminal justice system. This experience has not only provided me with great knowledge and understanding, but also a great passion for assisting our first responders. Many are operating at a high stress level due to the nature of the job, which often involves exposure to life-threatening situations, traumatic events, and high-pressure environments, putting them at a heightened risk for mental health issues like PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

I understand the courage it takes to seek support, and I am here to offer a caring space where you can feel understood and respected. Together, we will work toward creating lasting change, empowering you to reclaim your life with greater peace and self-compassion.
