Joyce Armstrong
LCSW | Therapist
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have experience working with young adults and adults in managing life transitions, loss and grief, depression and anxiety, as well as with individuals with substance use disorders. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient, inpatient, intensive outpatient and crisis intervention.
My approach is warm, engaging, compassionate and non-judgmental. I believe it is vitally important to provide a safe space for exploration of your thoughts and emotions. I offer a strengths-based, trauma-informed, collaborative approach. The ability to understand how past experiences impact the present can allow us to shift limiting beliefs, build a stronger connection to self and open pathways for healing. I utilize therapeutic approaches from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment Therapy (ACT) and have been trained in EMDR. I am deeply committed to the therapeutic process and look forward to the opportunity to work alongside you to help shift obstacles into possibilities.
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow” Mary Anne Radmacher
